Tiger Talk! February 11, 2022

Dear School Families,

This week the Church observes National Marriage Week (February 7th– February 14th) and World Marriage Day (February 14th).  We have included intentions this week for all parents, grandparents, and family members blessed with a loving partner to share their life with.  We have also included a special intention for those who are engaged as they get ready to join this sacred union.

This year is also the Double Jubilee for the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, celebrating both St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal.  The Salesian priests and brothers have taken wonderful care of our Church and parish for many years.  To celebrate the Double Jubilee, Salesian schools are encouraged to increase their knowledge of both St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal, to pray intercessions to them, and imitate them in our daily lives.

Renaissance Testing – We have finished up our first week of Renaissance Testing and will continue with it next week.  Students are working hard and trying their best on these tests.  Please be sure your student is on time, well rested, and ready to go as we continue testing next week.

Catholic Schools Week: Faith, Excellence. Service We had a fantastic Catholic Schools week at St. Anthony’s!  Students had a great time playing BINGO over the P.A. system, snacking on delicious cookies, and wearing their pjs for a movie with popcorn.  One of students’  favorite activities was Guess the Teacher.  Many of our teachers and staff submitted baby/toddler photographs and students tried to guess who was who.  We posted these pictures on our Facebook page, so please take a look. They are all adorable pictures!

I would like to say a special thank you to Steve and Sandra Beals, and their children, Abby and Steven, for providing a wonderful breakfast for our faculty and staff during Catholic Schools Week.  Everyone raved about how great the food was!  And a special thank you also to the Detlefsens’ for the lovely treat bags given to faculty and staff.  I know we all enjoyed the snacks!

Aftercare – If your child regularly attends Aftercare, and you know in advance you will be picking them up at regular dismissal with their class instead, please let the homeroom teacher or the office know.  This can cause confusion for the teachers and students when this information is not communicated.

Congratulations to our January Students of the Month! The value of the month was forgiveness. The following students showed they are forgiving of others and themselves.  Congratulations to Isabella Pinghera (PK3), Jordan Ross (PK4), Michayla Malloy (K), Stephen Beals (1st), Megan Zweidinger (2nd), Ryan Neal (3rd), Yancelis Rivera (4th), Cole Williams (5th), Jasmin Guererro-Fuentes (6th), Christopher Wooden (7th), and Kendall Reilly (8th)!  Keep up the great work!
